Religious Education/ Faith Formation 2024-2025

At St. Rita in the Desert, we offer weekly religious education to assist parents as primary educators in forming children in authentic Catholic faith and preparing them for the Sacraments. We believe that parents are not just the primary educators of their children but also the living examples of God's love. 'Children thus perceive and joyously live the closeness of God and Jesus made manifest by their parents' (General Directory for Catechesis, no. 226).

Our classes impart knowledge and create opportunities for your child to encounter God personally. Our goal is for your child to learn about Our Savior, Jesus Christ, to know Him intimately, and to grow in discipleship, fostering a lifelong spiritual connection.

St. Rita's Religious Education Faith Formation Program stands out for its commitment to providing a comprehensive and authentic catechesis to students in grades K through 8th. Our unique approach, the Word of Life Series, a collaborative project from Ignatius Press and the Augustine Institute, is a testament to our dedication. This curriculum is not just a textbook but an intricate approach that involves the students, their parents, and our catechists, ensuring a holistic and effective learning experience. 

Classes are Sundays from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm:

Grades K through 3rd- 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm

Grades 4th through 8th- 3:00-5:00 pm

Registration Fees: Grades K-5th- $ 60 for first/second child; $50 for each additional child. 

Sacrament Fees: $ 20
