The Sacrament of Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles, continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time. This is a sacrament of apostolic ministry. It includes three degrees: episcopate (bishop), presbyterate (priest), and diaconate (deacon).
If you have any questions about the vocation to the priesthood or deaconate please make an appointment to talk with Fr Alonzo, by calling the parish office at 520-762-9688. Additional information about the vocation to the priesthood can be found at the Diocese of Tucson at Vocation to the Priesthood.
If you are interested in the becoming a Deacon, please contact Fr Alonzo to discuss your intent. Normally, deacons are assigned to the parish where they reside. Because of this it is necessary to take the first steps with the parish priest. For more information on the Deaconate the following information is provided:
Minimum age for the diaconate is 40 years of age.
You must have the support of their pastor.
This is a letter of endorsement/recommendation.
You must have Level I certification prior to their application being submitted. This certification can be obtained through the Jordon Ministry Team (JMT), online.
