WHAT IS Adult Faith Formation?
Many Catholics received only a rudimentary education in their faith, and that was their introduction to the faith as children. Today, many Catholics find themselves wondering more and more about their Catholic faith, especially when their children are nearing their First Communion and beginning to ask questions. Some adults, after a life of working and supporting a family, now find they have time to delve a little more into their faith.
Adult Faith Formation is a way to help adults meet with and learn along with others in their peer group. Unlike bible studies that are specific to the Bible, Adult Faith Formation covers many subjects, including the Eucharist, Marian doctrines, the Holy Spirit, Divine Mercy, and moral relativism. As each session progresses, it is not uncommon for a class member to say, “How did I get to be this old and not know this?!”
The Parish offers 3-4 faith-based programs a year. Each program comprises a series of 90-minute classes offered in the morning or in the evening, over the course of 6-10 weeks; and each class includes both a video and question-and-answer periods. Most programs are supported by the Parish’s subscription to Formed.org.
